The Argentine striker Carlos Tevez has stated that he will be discussing terms with his club – Manchester city – over the possibility of extending his deal after stating that he is happy at the club. This is an incredible U-turn from the player, who came extremely close to leaving the club only a few months ago. Tevez has been an integral part of the Manchester City first-team this season. He and his goals have helped the club stay in touch with United at the top of the table, although it has not been enough to prevent them from opening a seven-point advantage in the table.
The current contract of the Argentine comes to an end at the end of next season. As a result, there is a desire within Manchester city to award him a new contract after seeing him mend his ways in recent months. Tevez has no longer been complaining about the weather in Manchester or that he is unhappy at the club. In fact, he has recently stated that he is happy at city and would like to discuss the possibility of extending his contract. The poor form of Mario Balotelli has meant that Tevez and Aguero have been the first-team regulars for the club this season.
“I’ve one year left on my deal and City want me to sign for two more seasons. I’ll think about it. This year is different from last, when I wanted to end the contract with City. I’m happy here as they’re treating me well. Sometimes I play, sometimes I don’t, but that’s OK. We are having a good time with him not only on the pitch but also outside as we play golf together,” said Tevez, who has said that the presence of Aguero has helped him settle at the club.
