Manchester United and Manchester City fans have not always seen eye-to-eye but the two set of fans were in agreement on Twitter when the Instagram post of Carlos Tevez surfaced on the platform.
Both City and United supporters shared their disapproval when the post of a Manchester United jersey giveaway from Carlos Tevez resurfaced on Twitter. He made the post via his official Instagram account.
Carlos Tevez is a popular figure in Manchester having played for both Manchester City and Manchester United. The retired Argentine international is still an active footballer though he’s without a club. Tevez has been without a club since leaving boyhood team Boca Juniors at the start of this year.
Teveztasted Premier League football for the first time at West Ham United following his controversial transfer from Corinthians in the Brazilian league. Carlos Tevez signed for the Hammers alongside compatriot Javier Mascherano in the summer of 2006 and he went on to play a big role in West Ham United escaping relegation from the Premier League in his only season at the club. He scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 away win over Manchester United on the final day of the season and that victory ensured that the Hammers stayed in the Premier League for another season.
Carlos Tevez was snapped up by Manchester United in 2007 and he spent two years at the club before controversially moving across Manchester to Manchester City. The Argentine striker won the league title in each of his two seasons at Old Trafford before he added another league title during the 2011/12 season at Manchester City. In total, Tevez won three Premier League titles during his time in England. He was also part of the Manchester United team that lost 2-0 to Spanish club Barcelona in the 2009 Champions League final in Rome thanks to the goals from Lionel Messi and Samuel Eto’o.
