The Argentine striker Carlos Tevez has once again become available for Roberto Mancini’s selection after missing the recent 3-1 defeat at the hands of Southampton due to family problems. Tevez had to fly back to Argentina in order to sort out the problems. He will come back to the squad that is desperate to finish the season on a high after going 12 points behind Manchester United in the table. Tevez will be available for selection in the match against Leeds United when Manchester City take on this Championship club in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
After being knocked out of the Champions league in the group stages, the FA Cup remains as the sole opportunity to lift a title for the club that had won two titles in the past two seasons. Pressure is extremely high on the manager Roberto Mancini after the 3-1 defeat against Southampton. The 29-year-old Carlos Tevez might have created a lot of problems for City just over 12 months ago, but he has been one of the influential strikers for the team this season. Meanwhile, the defender Zabaleta has said that the FA cup action could help City rediscover their form. City come into the match without a win in the last three matches.
“We know we gave probably our worst performance for two years or more last Saturday. We will learn from this defeat and use the deflated feeling as an inspiration to maybe try and rediscover the sort of spirit we had last season. We need to stand together and show what we are really capable of. We’ll aim to get back to winning ways at the weekend in the FA Cup,” said the Argentine defender ahead of the match with Leeds United during the weekend. After this match, City will take on Chelsea.
