Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra says that he is very much looking forward to his reunion with Carlos Tevez, with whom he played for a few years at Old Trafford. Tevez was one of the high-profile signings made by former manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. After having been part of Champions League and Premier League winning teams, Tevez decided to join arch rivals Manchester city on a free transfer. This was because United refused to pay the £ 25 million transfer fee demanded by Tevez’ agents to make the move permanent.
Tevez has since joined Juventus where he has excelled and helped the team win the third straight league title. Juventus recently lost to the manager Antonio Conte, who decided to resign from his post, but that did not prevent the club from signing United defender Patrice Evra on a two-year contract. The Frenchman had signed a new deal with United only a few weeks ago, but he comes to during in a £ 1.2 million deal. He will strengthen the left back position which has so far been featured only by Giorgio Chiellini.
The 33-year-old left back has enjoyed a lot of wonderful moments with Tevez and he says that it would be great to renew the friendship once again.
“It won’t be easy to win four titles in a row. I managed to do it three times with Manchester United and know how difficult the challenge is. We also hope to do well in the Champions League. It’s a great competition and we’ll look to go as far as we can. Carlos is a warrior. It was tough for me to see him leave United for another team. We’re great friends on and off the pitch. It wasn’t easy to leave Manchester United, it was a decision I made for personal reasons,” said Evra.
